OurĀ JacobsĀ Field Stadium Series Baseball Story & Inspiration

Jacobs Field replaced Municipal Stadium on the lake as part of the Gateway project with Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse ā€“ then the Gund Arena ā€“ and promised a downtown resurgence.

For 13 seasons, the ballpark was known as Jacobs Field, or "The Jake." The stadium cost $175 million to build. The naming rights were sold to Progressive Insurance in 2008 for $3.6 million per year for 16 years, giving rise to the stadium's current moniker, Progressive Field.Ā 

Jacobs Field has provided the community with many wonderful memories, including hosting the All-Star Games in 1997 and 2019, as well as the World Series in 1995, 1997, and 2016. From June 12, 1995, to April 4, 2001, the Indians' dominance in the mid to late 1990s resulted in 455 consecutive sellouts at the ballpark. I'm not kidding when I say that the field was nearly perfect back then.

      What are the measurements and weights of each sports ball?

      • Baseballs: 2.687" diameter; 5 oz.
      • Softballs: 3.82" diameter; 6 oz.
      • Regulation Size Footballs: 11.75" length; 12 oz.

      How is your artwork made?

      To create the designs of our footballs, our graphic artists use a unique process that combines royalty free photography, digital sketching, and watercolor digital painting.

      How to inflate a football?

      1. After getting the football, turn the pattern side over so that the side where the ball mouth is located stands out.
      2. Slowly and gently insert the air needle into the air nozzle as deep as possible. Don't push too hard, and don't push against hard objects.
      3. Start inflating the football.
      4. Quickly pull out the air needle after full to prevent air leakage
